Happy Sunday! Can you believe that Christmas is only one week away. Whah??? How is that even possible?
Today I wanted to just touch on some favorite things that help me with my wellness journey. I should preface this post by saying that I don't get paid nor am I affiliated with these products or companies. (Damn.)
These are the five things that I use on an almost daily basis:
1. Women's Best Pre-Workout Supplement (Orange Mango Dream)
I love this pre-workout! I mix a scoop of powder with 12 ounces of water about 15 minutes before my workout and I really do feel like it gives me more sustained energy throughout my workouts. I love the orange mango dream flavor; it's not too sweet and doesn't have that weird artificial aftertaste. I get this product at my local Walmart.
2. Garden of Life Organic Protein Powder
I drink this after every workout. I mix a scoop with 10 ounces of unsweetened almond milk, and often times I'll blend with frozen fruit, a couple of handfuls of greens, frozen cauliflower rice and some ground flax seed. I love that this protein powder is vegan, contains 0g of added sugar, and is non GMO. I've tried both the vanilla and chocolate flavors and both are good, but chocolate is my go-to flavor! I buy this at my local Walmart.
3. MYX Bike (MYXfitness)
I love this bike so much! Spinning has become my favorite form of cardio. When I had to retire from running because of my knees, I never thought I'd find a cardio exercise that would replace running, but then I discovered spinning! I get the same intensity of cardio that I got from running, only without the high impact. I love the high energy of the trainers, and most of all, I love the music that accompanies the workouts, especially the 80's-themed rides! So much fun!
I also love the rotating screen that is attached to the bike. If I don't want to do a spin class, I can stream one of my workout programs to do on the floor, and I just rotate the screen so that I can follow along.
4. My Portion Fix containers
These color-coded containers have been a game-changer with my nutrition. I'll do a separate post soon to go into more details of the specific plan that I follow, but I keep these babies on my window sill so that they are easy to grab when I need to measure out my portions. These containers help me ensure that I get in a healthy balance of veggies, fruits, proteins, carbs and fats.
5. My Ninja blender
I'd be lost without my blender to make my post-workout smoothies! I've always used Ninja blenders and have found that they do a great job of blending and are pretty easy to clean. As mentioned above, I drink a protein shake after all of my workouts, and often times, I love to make a smoothie with protein powder, unsweetened almond milk, a cup of water, a cup of frozen fruit (usually cherries or blueberries), a couple of handfuls of greens (spinach and/or kale), a cup of frozen cauliflower rice, and a tablespoon of ground flax seed. Healthy and delicious!
How about you? What is your favorite thing that you use to stay healthy? I'd love to hear in the comments!
