Adding some color

Although I'm really excited to start a new year and meet goals that I have set, I must admit that I'm not feeling the best right now. It's my own fault. It happens whenever I indulge too much and don't eat right.

It only takes a few days of not eating right and I start to feel bloated, tired, and grumpy. Then I get frustrated with myself for veering so far off track. Why do I keep doing this to myself?

I know I'll start feeling better once I get consistent with nutrition again. Today is definitely better than yesterday. Yesterday was better than the days before that.

The weather is not helping. I'm struggling. It's been frigid, snowy, or rainy. The sun hasn't made much of an appearance lately. I ran out of Vitamin D and just bought some more, so hopefully it will help to start taking that again.

I normally try to be positive and I definitely want my blog posts to feel uplifting, but I also want to keep things real. We all have our struggles. We all have bad days. Today I'm definitely riding the struggle bus. But writing down my thoughts and feelings and sharing them definitely helps. Reminding myself of things that will lift me up and improve my mood, like eating healthy foods, drinking plenty of water, and getting up and moving around, is essential.

As I'm writing this, I'm eating some fresh grapefruit and it's just what I needed! Grapefruit is my favorite winter season fruit and I could eat it every single day. Eating this vitamin-C enriched fruit with its gorgeous color and luscious juice is just the pick-me-up I needed!

My husband and I are also looking at new paint colors for all of the rooms. A new coat of paint on the walls, I'm sure, will be a spirit lifter. You can't go wrong with a fresh look and I'm picking some bright, cheerful colors. More and more, we're making this house feel like our home.

Have you added some color to your life lately?
