Happy Hump Day! Hey, remember that post I did recently about adding some color into my life? If you didn't see it, or need a reminder, you can read it here.
Anyway, my husband and I spent the weekend painting our kitchen and living area. The entire interior of the house was painted gray with white trim, and while I know that is a popular design choice, I needed color to brighten things up. I chose yellow for the kitchen and a sage green for the living area. Here are a few before/after photos:
And a couple of "after" photos to include the pups.
We are so pleased with how it turned out! I just love our little house more and more, especially now that we've been putting our own personal stamp on it. We have so many projects that we still need to do, but they will get done. I'm lucky that I have a husband who loves to do these kinds of home improvement projects!
On another note, I told myself that I was going to continue my momentum of eating healthy over the weekend, but that didn't pan out. On Saturday, we were so busy painting that I barely ate anything, so by the time we were finished right around dinner time, we decided to go out to eat at one of our favorite spots because we were tired, sore and famished. We went to a local Italian restaurant, where we proceeded to eat an appetizer, an entree, and bread, along with a couple of adult beverages. Plus, we shared a dessert. It was SO GOOD!! After we ate, my husband suggested hitting up another one of our local favorite places to have a drink before we went home. I had a lemon drop martini which was so good that I ordered a second one and by that point, I was feeling pretty warm and fuzzy!
So it ended up not being a great day for healthy eating, but it was a productive day and my husband and I had a great time on our "date night" and I am completely okay with that.
Sunday was another day of painting, but I decided that I was going to make healthier choices for eating and would make sure I drank more water, which I did. I also did some food prepping so that I would have some healthy meals ready to throw together for the upcoming week.
I keep saying that I'm going to do a post on some of my typical meal plans and I will do that soon, I promise!
