Yay, it's Friday! I woke up ready to face the day. My Fitbit watch told me that I had a good night's sleep, but I've been more active lately and should take a rest day. Sorry, Fitbit watch, today is leg day. I'll rest over the weekend!
I did the usual: fed the dogs, drank my cup of coffee, ate my banana with peanut butter, emptied the dishwasher, drank my pre-workout supplement (I may or may not have added a bit extra lol) and then got leg day done. Today was LIIFT4 week 5, day 4. We did three blocks of lifting, and then a block of HIIT, and finished with core. I stuck with the same weights as last time, except I lifted heavier for my deadlifts. The HIIT moves were challenging, but they felt much better than yesterday. By the end of the workout, I was a sweaty mess, but I was happy with how things went. Week 5 is done!
I drank a protein shake, showered, dressed and took one of our dogs, Luna, to the vet for a follow-up. She had a blocked anal gland last week and got an abscess, so she was put on a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory. She is healing nicely, but still has a bit of swelling, so they want her to do one more week of treatment to make sure things clear up.
When I got home I had some breakfast. I really like these mini frittatas when I need a quick breakfast:
You just pop them in the microwave for about 45 seconds. I ate two, along with a piece of toasted 12-grain bread.
Lunch was a salad made with mixed greens, cannellini beans, cucumber, and homemade lemon tahini dressing. I also threw in some raw pumpkin seeds.
After I ate I did a quick 10-minute at-home walking workout before going back to work.
Afternoon snack was an apple.
Fridays are usually when I start falling off track. With poor planning, I'm scrambling around trying to figure out what to eat because we're low on food and out of leftovers. We usually go out to eat on Friday nights or get take-out, which isn't a horrible thing if that's all I did for the entire weekend. But usually it's just the start of a whole weekend of overindulging. Today, in between work stuff, I've been working on a meal plan beginning tomorrow through next Friday. When I do this, I'm more likely to stay on track and feel better, so I'm feeling good about the upcoming weekend.
David and I went out to dinner at a local bar and had a couple of drinks. We also ordered some nachos, which we had both been craving, and then I had a grilled panini with chips. Then we came home and watched a movie and I was in bed before 9:30. It was a wild Friday night for me! LOL
