My Monday started out well. I had a good night's sleep and woke up when my alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. I let the dogs out to go potty, fed them, and then drank a cup of coffee while watching the news. I ate a banana with almond butter, emptied the dishwasher, and then changed into my workout clothes and drank my pre-workout supplement. While I waited for that to kick in, I read some pages from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.
Since I'm waiting for a new workout program to become available later in December, I decided to repeat the first few weeks of a previously completed program, LIIFT More. Today we focused on chest and biceps:
We did two blocks consisting of four exercises. We did 12 reps of each exercise and then repeated it two more times. By the time we got to the burnout, my biceps were toast! As always with Joel's programs, we finished with some core exercises.
After that, I did my daily affirmation/meditation. Today's affirmation was "I am successful." A great affirmation to start out the week!
I drank my protein shake, checked my work emails, showered, and ate breakfast while I did some work. Breakfast was scrambled eggs (2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites) with onions, red peppers, and a bit of shredded cheese. I also had some black coffee.
I'm back to tracking my macros (I use the Cronometer app) and so far today, I've eaten 62.6g of protein!
At noon I attended my business book group, where we discussed a couple of chapters of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (such a good book!) When I got home I checked my work emails and since there was nothing pressing going on, I fixed lunch.
Lunch today was a salad made with mixed greens, lentils, tempeh, grape tomatoes, and a dressing made with tahini, lemon juice, and nutritional yeast.
Afternoon snack was vanilla Greek yogurt with kiwi and granola.
I ended up working late and by the time I was done, it was dinnertime for the dogs and then I made dinner for David and I. We had taco salads made with ground turkey, salad greens, black beans, corn, and salsa. I added some plain Greek yogurt to mine. After I cleaned up, I had a couple of clementines.
It was a really busy day and I didn't get in a lot of steps, but I was really happy with my macros and my food choices.
After dinner I read for a while and then was in bed before 9:00.
