Happy Veterans' Day to all of the veterans, especially my husband. Thank you for your service!
I slept like crap last night. Not a surprise. I know that a second glass of wine will affect my sleep, and gorging on snacks last night because I was super hungry didn't help.
The dogs had me up before 5:30, so after I fed them, I relaxed with a cup of coffee and the latest episode of The Great British Baking Show. I emptied the dishwasher and did a 15-minute at-home walking video just to get my body moving. I made a protein smoothie for my breakfast and after doing my meal planning and grocery list for the week, I headed to Walmart.
I got home and put the groceries away and had a bit more coffee before showering and dressing. David and I met our daughters and granddaughter for lunch to celebrate Veterans' Day.
One of our son-in-laws was there, also. David got a free meal, a free beer, and since we know one of the managers, a 4-pack of one of his favorite brews. I had a few chips and guacamole, a beer, and a salmon Caesar salad with foccacia bread. It was a great day!
We got home just in time to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes football game.
For dinner, I made a chicken enchilada skillet dish, which was fantastic!
After dinner, I read while David watched his Ohio Buckeyes play football. I stayed up until around 9:30 because I wanted to finish the book I was reading, but I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.
