Today I decided to track my food, just to see where I'm at with calories and macros. It's not something that I necessarily enjoy doing, but I decided that it's a sacrifice that I'm going to make in order to meet some strength goals that I've made. I entered all of the food I plan to eat today in the app, and I'm happy with how things look.
Normal routine this morning: woke up at 5:00, fed the dogs, had a cup of coffee while watching the news, emptied the dishwasher, drank my pre-workout, put on my workout clothes, and looked at my tracker sheet to see what we'd be doing today. Oh shit, we're doing ALL the leg stuff today, plus HIIT. Bye, legs!
I haven't lifted this heavy since February, when I was feeling really good and strong! I was so pumped and proud of myself! In fact, I started looking at purchasing some heavier dumbbells. Leg days are challenging in this program, and today I rocked it! I even killed the HIIT block, even though my legs were tired and heavy.
Afterwards, I had a protein shake, and then after I worked for a bit, showered & dressed, I ate my breakfast of overnight oats.
Lunch was a protein bowl made with diced chicken breast, black beans, salad mix, roasted zucchini and broccoli topped with plain Greek yogurt and salsa.
I had a work meeting after lunch and I have a work issue that is stressing me out and I've been stressing about Kali's vet appointment tomorrow, and so I decided to take a break and go for a walk outside with David. I vented to David and then I felt much better. He bought me a soy latte from the local coffee shop and then I came back home and was feeling a lot calmer. I'm learning to not only just take a break from things that are causing anxiety, but to also talk about my feelings, which is really hard for me. I was able to put the work issue in perspective and realized that I didn't need to stress and worry so much.
But YAY ME for not just sitting and stewing and worrying and obsessing and comforting myself with junk food or chocolate. A walk outside, talking it over with with my husband, and a soy latte did the trick!
Dinner was pan-cooked cod with a little butter and olive oil, a baked sweet potato, and roasted Brussels sprouts.
After dinner we watched TV and I read for a little bit and then was in bed by 9:00.
