Daily diary - Tuesday 12/12/13

I had a good night of sleep last night. Although I ended up waking up before my alarm went off and couldn't get back to sleep, according to my Fitbit watch, I got 7 hours, 8 minutes of sleep with a sleep score of 88. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that David and I went for a walk yesterday after we ate lunch. It was a beautiful day and it felt really good to get some fresh air and sunshine. We walked to the library so that I could drop off a book and then we stopped at the coffee shop to get a coffee. I couldn't resist getting a soy peppermint mocha latte. 'Tis the season!

This morning's workout was Day 2 of Fire and Flow, Mobility Flow. It hurt so good! I'm not going to lie, I don't enjoy yoga or pilates, or any sort of slow-paced workout. I want to be lifting or doing cardio and working up a sweat. But my body needs this. It needs to slow down and work on mobility. However, we did do some moves using a light dumbbell which worked our legs and arms, so it wasn't all stretching and breathing!

Afterwards, I drank a protein shake, answered some emails, showered and dressed, and ate some protein eggs bites for breakfast.

For lunch I had the rest of the leftover vegan broccoli cheese soup, along with two pieces of toasted whole grain toast with avocado.

Afternoon snack was cucumber slices and Mary's Gone Crackers with hummus, along with a few Brazil nuts. I read that Brazil nuts are supposed to be good for your heart and blood pressure, so I started eating a few a week. I don't know if it's true or not, but I figure it can't hurt! They contain selenium, which is an essential mineral with antioxidant properties.

Dinner was an Ahi tuna steak with a baked sweet potato, steamed cauliflower, and cottage cheese.

After dinner I read for a while and then was in bed by 9:00.
