Today is a sad day. I feel emotionally drained, and I didn't sleep well, so I'm tired.
I fed the dogs, drank some coffee and ate a banana with almond butter while I watched the news. Today is a scheduled rest day for LIIFT4, so I was trying to decide what I wanted to do. It's easier to just keep a routine if I do some sort of workout, so I decided to do a dance cardio workout because those are always fun, and I thought if I did something fun it would cheer me up. It didn't, but I still got a good sweat and I'm happy that I got some movement in.
Haley texted to say that Maggie is worse this morning and that they're glad they made the decision to let her go. Making that kind of decision is one of the worst things to do, but unfortunately, it comes with the territory of being a pet parent. Maggie can't even get up this morning, but they fed her a breakfast of steak and eggs, and hopefully she got some banana, too.
The emotions come in waves, and I'm just trying to ride them out. After my workout I drank a protein shake and then after answering some emails, I ate some plain greek yogurt with granola and blueberries.
For lunch I wasn't sure what I was going to eat. I did a horrible job of meal planning this week. However, I remembered that I had made some tofu curry a while back and because I made too much, I decided to try freezing some. I thawed some out in a saucepan, not knowing if it would taste okay. Turns out that you can freeze tofu curry; it tasted great and I had it with a slice of 12-grain bread.
I dropped Kali and Luna, our two bigger dogs, off at the groomer for baths, and that is always stressful. Luna is great, but Kali is always overexcited in the car and barks and whines, and when we go inside the grooming shop, she barks really loud and scares the other customers and gets the other dogs worked up. So embarrassing. However, my understanding is that as soon as I leave, she's fine, so I'm relieved to know that. To treat myself for surviving the dog drop-off, I made a soy latte and worked until the groomer called to say the dogs were ready.
Afternoon snack was an apple and two Babybel Light mini cheeses.
After work, David and I went for a walk at one of our local trails. For dinner I made some shrimp and veggie stir fry with brown jasmine rice. After cleaning up, I read for a bit and watched some of the World Series and then by 8:45 I was having a hard time keeping my eyes open, so I headed to bed.
