I was seriously on a roll. I was killing my workouts. My nutrition was on track. And then, out of nowhere, the flu hit.
That was over a week ago. While I'm feeling much better and am back to work, I was really sick for several days. I'm still not at 100%; I have a lingering cough and I don't have all of my energy back, but each day gets better.
This morning I tried to workout. I did a chest and triceps lifting workout. Today's workout consisted of the following:
BLOCK 1: 4 exercises, 10 reps each, for 3 rounds. This included declining chest press, skull crushers, rotating chest press, single side crushers.
BLOCK 2: 4 exercises, 10 reps each, for 3 rounds. This included chest press, triceps press, chest fly, and triceps kickback.
I made it through all of block 1 and one round of block 2 and decided to stop. I felt a bit nauseous and light-headed, and I was feeling short of breath. It's going to take a while to get my stamina back after being inactive for an extended time.
That's okay. I don't want to push myself too hard and get sick again. The holidays are quickly approaching and the grandbaby will be here soon. I want to be back at 100% good health.
I'm just taking it one day at a time and focusing on getting in lots of water, fruits, veggies, and healthy protein. Road blocks and detours are part of the process. I've got this!
