September Wrap-up

September has been a pretty epic month for me. I vowed to myself at the beginning of the month that I was going to make some changes, and I think for the most part, I was really successful. For starters, David decided that he wanted to try the Mediterranean diet and so we looked at a lot of different recipes and while there were a couple of nights when we ended up making a grilled cheese sandwich or got takeout because I was too tired to cook, a majority of our meals were healthy and we even discovered some recipes that are both delicious and easy to prepare. Here are a few of the recipes that we tried, and I've included a link for the recipes that I found online:

Mediterranean Fish Stew

Veggies with hummus

It's been fun trying new recipes. I tend to cook the same things week after week, so it's been good to get out of my comfort zone. I'm especially proud of David because he's kind of a picky eater, but has been open to trying all of the dishes and has enjoyed all of them so far. In fact, he made the fish stew and did a great job! Most importantly, I'm enjoying just eating healthy foods again and not getting into a mental game of counting calories and macros. I feel good, I'm sleeping well, and my workouts are going well, and that's the best I can ask for, right?

I'm in the last week of my current workout program and have felt really strong. I've been trying to get walks in throughout the day and was pretty excited about my Fitbit stats a couple of weeks ago:

I also received these stats from BODi (Beachbody):

I assume these stats are for the entirety of my Beachbody membership, which has been over five years, but that's a lot of workouts and attests to the consistency that I've built over the years.

I plan to keep the momentum going in October. I'm starting a different workout program; it's a favorite and one that I revisit from time to time. I've already printed out the workout schedule, along with a weight tracker sheet, and I'm excited to start!
